A Space That Shaped My Youth
Spacemakers is more than just a local space — it’s somewhere that played a role in my life as a teenager.
Years later, when my own children asked why the site looked run down and neglected, it sparked something in me.
That moment became a turning point.
Why Community Matters
Community spaces are vital. As they provide safe places for young people, opportunities for connection, a sense of belonging/ownership, pride in local area.
As a Community Volunteer, I believe we all have a responsibility to give something back — especially to the places that helped shape us.
I made it my mission to bring Spacemakers back to its former glory.
What started as concern quickly became action — working alongside the local community, supporting improvements, and helping revitalise the space so it could once again serve young people and families.
Looking Forward
Spacemakers is about legacy.
It’s about ensuring the next generation grows up with the same opportunities, inspiration and safe spaces that we once had.
Community impact isn’t measured in words — it’s measured in action.
